Winter 2002-2003 Regular Season
Labatt knots Strychnine 1-1: For the third game in a row, Labatt held their opponent to one goal and displayed continued consistency in their defensive play. The contest ended on an exciting note as the two teams exchanged breakaway chances in the final moments of overtime, but both goalies held their ground and the game ended a 1-1 tie. "Nickname" line dominant: Macgregor, John's Lute, and Rocky debuted their new jersey nameplates in fine fashion, putting pressure on the Strychnine D all game and scoring Labatt's only goal when Julie Stephenson ('Lute) fed Scott Mirer (Rocky) with a perfect pass to the slot. Fans in the stands may not know who they really are, but knowledgable insiders will be watching for this awesome threesome. Momentum headed for playoffs: With just one more game left, Labatt has found its defensive touch at the right time to head into the playoffs. The season finale against Red Storm on Sunday, March 2, will be a warmup for the playoff game between these same two teams on Sunday, March 16. Tank Game Monday, March 17: Labatt and the New Enforcers will square off following the Sharks vs. the Chicago Blackhawks at the San Jose Arena. Gametime for the Sharks is 7:00, and Labatt will take the ice between 9:30 and 10:00. If you haven't already, contact your favorite Labatt player regarding tickets (anyone attending the Sharks game is able to also attend the PHA contest afterward).
