Winter 2002-2003 Regular Season
[Update 3/17/03]: According to the official PHA E-league standings and other sources, the forfeit by Labatt against the New Enforcers on October 20, 2003 has in fact been recorded as a win for Labatt. The standings and statistics have been updated accordingly. [Update 10/30/02] Labatt forfeits game: The PHA has ruled that Labatt Blue forfeited this match against the New Enforcers. After reviewing Labatt's use of Riaz Ladhabhoy as a substitute for the game, the PHA felt that the substitution was inappropriate and ruled that the win should be awarded to the New Enforcers. Co-Captain Joel Maki will serve a one-game suspension at some future date in the season as part of the PHA's ruling. [Pictures/Video] News alert -- defense is hard: Defensive fill-ins Michael Lii and Scott Mirer got a quick education on working the blueline, teamed up with stalwarts Matt Taylor and Erik "Lud" Ludvigson. These veterans provided consistency and helped the newcomers along, with excellent results. "Lud" also chipped in with three assists, recalling the play of greats such as Bobby Orr and Ray Borque (could he be a Bruin reincarnate?). Highlights:
Injury update, 10/20/02: Farooz attended the game as video camera operator, and reports he may return to action as soon as October 27 against Strychnine. Gary Pagdilao, knocked out of the October 13 contest, was back on the ice for this game during which he sustained a minor shoulder injury. He reports that all is well and shouldn't miss any action. Other E-league action: Strychnine outdueled Red Storm to win its first of the season. Labatt has its first meeting against Strychnine in its next game on October 27.
