Game #3 October 27, '02
Labatt suffers loss: Despite Vezina-quality
goaltending and gutsy effort, the Blue lost against Strychnine
in its third game of the season on October 27. Strychnine, backstopped by
Caralee Clarke, held Labatt to just two second period
goals and with a third period 3-goal blitz won by a final score
of 6-2.
Highlights:
- First goals from the blueline, with scores from Paul
(joining the rush) and Erik (firing from the point)
- Fewest PIMs with just two 2-minute penalties assessed
(including none for co-captain Joel)
Injury update, 10/27/02: Farooz returned from the DL
to show the same hustle and agility he displayed at the start of
the season. Looks like his ankle injury is behind him, and Labatt's
roster is 100% healthy.
Other E-League Action: Following Labatt's contest against
Strychnine, Red Storm took to the ice against the New Enforcers.
At the end, New Enforcers led 3-2 for a tie with Strychnine
in the E-League season standings (each team is 2-1-0).
